A confidential personnel file is maintained by the church for each employee. The information contained in this file is available exclusively to the Personnel Team and Lead Staff of FBCO. This file includes all applicable employment documents including, but not limited to the required employee documents listed in this handbook as well as a record of time away, performance evaluations, disciplinary documentation, and commendations. Health and medical claims are not included. The employee personnel file is the property of First Baptist Owasso and is not available to employees. Employees will be given copies of required employee documents, time away, performance evaluations, disciplinary documentation and commendations at the time of creation. The Pastoral Leadership Team must approve requests for release of information within an employee’s personnel file.

 

Employee Background, Credit & Driving Checks

Employees are required to pass a criminal background check before employment can begin. At the discretion of the Personnel Team, and/or Lead Staff credit and/or driving checks for select positions may be required before hire. Information received from employee background, credit and/or driving checks is confidential and available exclusively to the Personnel Team and Pastoral Leadership Team of FBCO.

 

Driving Check and proof of appropriate licensing is required for all employees operating church-owned or rented vehicles.

 

Public Record

Employee name, the original date of employment, current position title, date of the most recent status of position and name of the immediate supervisor are a matter of public record and available to anyone upon request.

 

Information Release

Employment inquiries or verification may not be released except by or with the written authorization of the Pastoral Leadership Team or Personnel Team.
